DocIt is a warranty tracker app for Android. You keep the bill or invoice on your phone, add the date the warranty ends, and DocIt shows which warranties are still active, which are about to run out and which have ended. Turn reminders on and your phone tells you 30, 7 and 1 day before a warranty ends. You don't need an account, and the bill is encrypted on this phone.
Warranties usually get lost the same way: the fridge stops cooling in month eleven, and the bill is faded in a drawer or lost in an old email. Saving it in DocIt on the day you buy avoids both.
How to track a warranty in DocIt
- Scan the bill with the camera on the day you buy, or import the invoice PDF the shop emailed you. An invoice of several pages becomes one PDF.
- Check the date. When the warranty end or "valid till" date is printed on the bill, DocIt reads it and shows it for you to check. When it isn't printed, type it in. The warranty card in the box often has it.
- Check the name. DocIt suggests one from what it reads. Change it to something you'd search for later, like "Fridge bill".
- Save. If phone reminders are still off, DocIt asks whether to remind you before it runs out.
- When you need it, open Warranties from Quick access on the home screen or from the shortcut on the Documents screen.

What the Warranties screen shows
The screen has four tabs: All, Active, Expiring and Expired. The soonest end date comes first, and each line says how long is left, such as "Expiring in 5 months" or "Expired 12 days ago".
A warranty counts as Expiring in its last 30 days. That's the time to get a small fault looked at, like a rattling fan or a dead line on a screen, while it's still covered.
One thing to know: the screen lists every saved document that has an end date, not only bills. Your passport and car insurance show up there too. Search by name when you want one bill quickly.
Reminders before a warranty ends
Turn reminders on, either when DocIt asks after a save or later from You, then Reminders, and allow notifications when Android asks. Your phone then reminds you 30, 7 and 1 day before each end date. The reminders work without signing in. Your passport and policies get the same alerts: see document expiry reminders.
When something breaks
Open the bill from Warranties, or search for it by name, and share it with the brand's customer care or the service centre straight from DocIt. If they want the bill, the warranty card and a photo of the fault in one file, Photos to PDF joins them into one PDF to send.

What DocIt doesn't do
- It doesn't register your product with the brand.
- It doesn't work out a warranty period. It reads an end date only when the bill prints one; otherwise you add it.
- It doesn't search your email or gallery for bills. You add each one.
- It reads English and other Latin-script text, so a bill printed in Hindi needs the date typed in.
- It runs on Android only.
- The bill file and its thumbnail are encrypted with AES-256. Names and dates sit in the app's database on the phone without that extra encryption. How DocIt protects your documents.
Which bills to keep
Any bill with a warranty is worth a minute: phones, laptops, TVs, ACs, fridges. For anything fitted at home, keep the installation report too, because some warranties count from that date.
Bills are one part of a family's documents. Your ID cards can sit in the same app as a document wallet. Our important documents checklist covers the rest, and in the app DocIt shows the 9 documents most Indian families need (6 in the US, UK, Canada and Australia) and which ones you still have to add. To set up folders, say one per appliance, see how DocIt works as a document organizer. For the full picture, see what else the DocIt app does.

Questions
Can DocIt work out the warranty period from my bill?
No. It reads a warranty end or "valid till" date only when the bill prints one, and shows it for you to check. It does not turn "1 year warranty" into a date, so type the end date in when none is printed.
Does DocIt register my product with the brand?
No. If the maker asks you to register, do it on their website or warranty card. You can keep the confirmation in DocIt with the bill.
Will I get warranty reminders by email?
No. Reminders are notifications on your phone, 30, 7 and 1 day before the end date, once you turn them on.
My bill came as a PDF from an online order. Can I track that?
Yes. Import the PDF from your files, or share it into DocIt from your email app, then check or add the end date before you save.
