Why the old app stopped working
The old DocIt stored documents on our servers. We decided that holding people’s ID and bank details in one place was a risk we didn’t want anyone to carry, including us. So we shut the servers down and rebuilt DocIt from scratch.
Documents from the old app
Documents that were only saved on the old servers can’t be opened in the new app. If you still need something specific, write to hello@docit.one from the email or phone number you used, and we’ll tell you what is possible.
What is different now
- No server. Your documents are saved on your phone, encrypted. We never receive them.
- No sign-up. No email, phone number or password. Open the app and start.
- It reads for you. Scan a document and DocIt fills in the name, number and expiry for you to check.
- Works offline. Everything happens on the phone.
The things people liked most are still here: a good scanner, folders, and seeing what is about to expire.

Update DocIt from Google Play, then scan your most important documents first. Most people start with their IDs and vehicle documents.
